Miscellaneous
This is a collection of photographs from my various adventures that didn't fit into their own category or I felt there were not enough to give them their own page. So I decided to put them together for simplicities sake.
Mid winter frost, cars and stuff covered in a thin sheen of ice. Don't get these very often in Perth, maybe once or twice during winter.
It's not very clear here as there is nothing in the frame for scale. But this plasma ball is huge! It's about a meter across. It is on display at the Powerhouse Museum in Sydney.
I have a longer write-up (and more photos) which I posted on Beware the Gunmonkey if you are interested in the Powerhouse Museum. It is very cool if you are interested in technology. Other people might find it boring...
This is one of the few vignettes that I have built. A LEGO vignette is built on a small square plate and depicts a scene or idea. I depicted the original Prince of Persia game, with the prince running through the Viziers' dungeon.
I really like this photo. It is a water feature slash fountain at the front of one of the hotels in Sydney. I happened to be walking past one night and took a photo of it. Considering that I was using a simple point and shoot camera with no tripod at night, I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.
This is a local Perth band which broke up. One of their last shows, I took a bunch of pics - very few of them came out decent.
Still on Jupiterian Vibe - one of the better photos.
I think this photo is from when they were warming up, but I'm not 100% sure of it.
This didn't come out as good as I wanted, but I like the result. This is in the elevetor of the place I was staying at when I was in Sydney.
I like these clouds and such. From one of the last days at the old place in Mirrabooka before we moved.
I can't beleive how much garbage we generated. We dumped two skip bins of assorted trash before we moved and this is another skip worth of trash from after we moved.
Ah. This explains where at least some of the trash came from. My old room. My new room is a lot neater! Well, at least a bit neater...
I liked this letterbox. It's a crankshaft from a car engine. Sure, the letterboc kept falling off the top because I didn't secure it properly, but I thought it looked cool.
As a side anecdote, that crankshaft has the flywheel attached and the whole lot is sitting in about two bags of cement. The reason for this is that our previous letterbox (which was a gearbox) was stolen. I made sure this one wasn't going anywhere!
As with most of the photos I took from our balcony, it would have turned out nicer with a better camera - or at least a tripod. Oh well, we work with what we have available.
I'm not too sure what this is, but I'm fairly certain that it's a model of the solar system. Again, this one is from the Powerhouse Museum.
For comparison, another sunrise; this time in Sydney.
One of the last photos at the old place, just before we moved out. Back yard looks empty without all the cars.
This photo was taken in ... Sydney? Queensland? Not sure, it's an older photo. It's from one of the conventions I went to, not sure which one. This was a very quiet and peacful area.
