Music by Tsbytomd

For a while, I was trying to create music under the stage name of "Tsbytomd". Not really a stage name as I never went onto an actual stage. I can't sing and I can't play an instrument - but I didn't let that stop me!

Over the course of about three years (very on-off) I produced three albums. I won't say that they were great or anything, but I liked them (or at least some of the songs). I even went so far as to make some video clips.

I should have stuck with it and produced something better, but I switched my attention to photography. I needed to choose between buying a decent photo camera or a video camera and the photography won out.

Here are my three video clips, in reverse order (oldest at the bottom):

Bag of Rocks

Here we have the third video clip, from the third album, Jump. For the video clip for Bag of Rocks I decided to go for a basic video clip featuring me exercising. Nothing fantastic, just seemed like an easy thing to film.

I'm a little disappointed with how this video came out. Not the clip itself, but the editing is quite poor. There are several pauses and jumps and stuff which detract from the video clip. Mind you, I used a free, ultra-basic editor.

Svelte

Svelte is more of a test video than anything else. I bought a little "action" type camera. The biggest disappointment is the time/date stamp. It was not mentioned as a feature when I bought it but there is no way to turn it off! Well, what can I expect from a $30 camera?

I bolted the camera to the bike and went for a ride, but the bulk of the footage is very nausea inducing. The side-to-side movement from being mounted on the handlebars is too noticeable to make for good footage.

The song "Svelte" is from my second album. There was another song I wanted to use to make a viudeo clip for from this album, but it's a faster dance-type song. I wanted to get a group together to dance in front of the camera but gave up music before making that video clip.

Jammin' on a lazy Sunday afternoon:

My very first video clip! I chose to use "Jammin' on a lazy Sunday afternoon" because I feel that it is the best of the songs on my first album. I borrowed a camera from a friend and ran around for an afternoon shooting footage. It was heaps of fun!

I think that the first video clip I made was the best of the three. With a better camera, better editing software or more committment I could have made more and better video clips. I still have the urge to make more video clips and I may still make more for my current music but I don't think that I will be making any new music.

If you are interested, you can check out my three albums here:

Pyro
My first album. Made on the cheap but has a nice organic feel.
Carpe Diem
The second album, all about grabbing opportunities.
Jump
My third and final album. Some of my best (and worst) songs.
